Apple’s HomePod 2 has been released after a five-year hiatus. The latest generation of the company’s smart speaker, launched last month, features improved computational audio and support for Spatial Audio tracks. The smart speaker comes with a price tag of Rs. 32,900 /- and will be available on sale in white and midnight colour options. You can purchase the smart speaker online from the Apple store.

Apple HomePod 2 features
The latest HomePod generation offers various smart features, including Sound Recognition which can identify smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and send notifications directly to the user’s iPhone if such a sound is detected.
The HomePod 2 is equipped with an S7 chip and features a custom-made high-excursion woofer, integrated bass-EQ microphone, and five tweeters. It boasts a transparent mesh fabric and backlit touch surface.
The smart speaker has a motor that drives the diaphragm and room-sensing technology, allowing it to recognize sound reflections from nearby surfaces and adjust sound in real-time based on whether it is against a wall or free-standing.
The HomePod 2 also has a new temperature and humidity sensor that can measure indoor conditions, enabling users to set up automations that close the blinds or turn on the fan when a certain temperature is reached in a room.
In terms of connectivity, the HomePod 2 is compatible with Matter and can connect to other Matter-enabled devices. It can also be paired with the Apple TV 4K and includes eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) support on the Apple TV 4K. The device supports Find My, allowing users to locate their Apple devices such as an iPhone by playing a sound on the lost device.
