Motorola to Launch Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra Foldable Phones in India Next Month

Motorola is set to captivate the Indian smartphone market once again with the upcoming launch of its latest foldable phones, the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra. Following their recent debut in China, these cutting-edge devices are scheduled to make their way to Indian market in July next month.

Motorola’s announcement confirms that all color variants of both flip phones will be available in India, with no expected changes to the original specifications. The decision to bring the Razr 40 and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra to India just a month after their China release demonstrates the growing popularity of foldable phones in the country.

The highly anticipated launch of the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra is slated for July 3 and will be exclusively available for online purchase on Amazon. While the pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the specifications of both phones are already known as they are currently on sale in China.

Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra Specifications

The Motorola Razr 40 serves as the standard model, while the Razr 40 Ultra offers additional features and enhancements at a higher price point. The Razr 40 features a 6.9-inch primary display with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels. This screen boasts a refresh rate of 144Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 1400 nits. On the other hand, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra sports a 6.9-inch primary display with a refresh rate of 165Hz and the same resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels. It also features a peak brightness of 1400 nits and benefits from Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The secondary displays of the two devices differ in size. The Razr 40 houses a smaller 1.5-inch outer screen, while the Ultra model boasts a larger 3.6-inch outer display.

In terms of processing power, the Razr 40 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, a new mid-range chipset based on the 4nm fabrication process. On the other hand, the Razr 40 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, an older flagship SoC.

Both devices offer up to 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB. The Razr 40 packs a 4,200mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, while the Ultra variant is equipped with a slightly smaller 3,800mAh battery but shares the same charging speed. Additionally, both phones support 5W wireless charging technology.

In the camera department, the Razr 40 boasts a 64MP + 13MP dual-rear camera setup, while the Ultra model features a 12MP + 13MP dual-rear camera system. Both phones are capable of shooting 4K videos, with the Ultra offering the added benefit of capturing smoother 60fps footage.

Both the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra come with an IP52 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and other GNSS services. Additionally, both devices feature side-mounted fingerprint scanners for enhanced security.
